Studying – MSc Computer Science

This month I am studying “MSc Computer Science”

An on-line school (kind of like OU) is offering a Master’s in Computer Science.

Two years of study, with a project option instead of a thesis.

Update: I like it.

Also a good chance to experience the difference between UK uni and US uni even if it is on-line.

Relief

I have learned of this thing called “Thanksgiving” and apparently the entire fucking country shuts down and goes off to visit other people.

Thanks for letting me know you arseholes.

This would be like showing up on Christmas Day (without knowing about Christmas) in a new country and trying to figure out what the Hell is going on.

 

Not a good time

Why is everything closed?

Every restaurant, bar and shop.

There’s nobody about on Venice Beach.

I am so lonely.

Cannot reach anybody I know locally on the phone.

Did I make a mistake in coming here?

The only guy to step off the plane with a winter overcoat, gloves and two scarves.

Bumped in to “Diamond” Dave from my HND days on the plane. How weird is that?!?

Got my ticket to ride

Tomorrow I step on a plane from Cardiff airport and head to California and a job in the sun.

Wish me luck!

I am moving to California.

I have my work visa, by the end of this week I will have a plane ticket.

And by the end of this month I will have switched off this BBS.

This month I am studying “Japanese Language & Literature”

This is the 9th month of a 48 month part-time, in-person class.

Update: My US visa is in process, just have to buy my plane ticket.

This will be my last month studying Japanese at college.

Update: I don’t like sushi.

We had to take a “cultural” class.

I chose sushi.

Basic sushi making skills, etc.

This is where Justin learns he doesn’t like salt water fish, squid or shellfish.

Switched to the vegetarian class option instead.
