Somebody needs to think about this stuff...

Reading

I made it a goal in 1985 to read one book a week.

Generally I have managed to stick to that goal for the most part.

Some years I couldn't get as much reading done as I wanted to.

My GoodReads list shows that I have a smidgen under 3,500 books that I have read.

And there are at least 300 books on my GoodReads list I have yet to tackle.

So much to read. So slow a reader.

Due to dyslexia I am not a particularly fast reader.

I plod through books at a pedestrian pace. I am jealous of people who can read quickly and I have no clue how people are able to speed read and retain all that information.

It's only dogged persistence that lets me get through a book some days.

Today I finished reading “Appleseed: Prometheus Unbound” by Masamune Shirow

Omnibus versions of Japanese comic books. Easy to purchase in English language versions no matter which country you are in. Easy to give away to random people you meet along the road.

Read – Crafting A Compiler

Today I finished reading “Crafting A Compiler” by Charles Fischer.

Made a ton of notes. I need to post this one back to my parent’s house as I don’t want to lose it.

Read – Numerical Recipes in C

Today I finished reading “Numerical Recipes in C: The Art of Scientific Computing” by William Press.

Didn’t get to do any of the examples as I didn’t have access to a C compiler on my Z88. This is a really heavy book to be carrying around in my backpack. I need to find a lighter book to carry with me.

It’s a shame I cannot get books in digital format on my Z88.
