Today I finished reading “Complete Spectrum Rom Disassembly” by Ian Logan
Tons of useful information. Took a while to make notes and insert post-its in the appropriate places.
What the hell people do to put notes in their books before post-its?
Somebody needs to think about this stuff...
I made it a goal in 1985 to read one book a week.
Generally I have managed to stick to that goal for the most part.
Some years I couldn't get as much reading done as I wanted to.
My GoodReads list shows that I have a smidgen under 3,500 books that I have read.
And there are at least 300 books on my GoodReads list I have yet to tackle.
So much to read. So slow a reader.
Due to dyslexia I am not a particularly fast reader.
I plod through books at a pedestrian pace. I am jealous of people who can read quickly and I have no clue how people are able to speed read and retain all that information.
It's only dogged persistence that lets me get through a book some days.

Today I finished reading “The Art of Computer Programming: Volume 3: Sorting and Searching” by Donald Ervin Knuth
Aaannddd… I’m done.
All three volumes of a series of programming books that I am sure people will describe as “classic.”
This volume took me a long time to work my way through. I think I read about 30 other books in parallel whilst I was doing all the examples.
I have read every book in this series cover-to-cover.
And I have implemented all but two of the algorithms in BASIC, 6502 and Z80.
Please God, don’t let there be a fourth volume.

Today I finished reading “Dungeons and Dragons: Expert Set” by David Zeb Cook
Sat down and read the rule books cover-to-cover rather than the “dipping in to” knowledge I sort of picked up through osmosis and playing the game alongside other people.
