We have always been at war with Poverty
The problem with poverty is us.
And by “us” I mean the people who don’t live in poverty.
Poverty isn’t a matter of money or jobs.
Those are easy measurements and far too many people attempt to measure our “war on poverty” by how much money we have raised, how much money we have spent, how many jobs we have created.
Those things matter.
Of course they matter.
But to put an end to poverty we have to give the poor the ability to make their own choices.
When you have choice, and the ability to truly choose, you know that you can make a better world for yourself, and for the generations that will come after you.
