No matter how busy I am, I refuse to ever eat lunch at my desk just because the project manager is pushing to hit a deadline.
No, just no.
This is the start of the slippery slope to losing all semblance of good work-life balance.
I’ve done it when I was younger and I have to admit, I was incredibly naïve and stupid.
Any project manager who is going to chastise me for not being a team player because I insisted on taking my lunch break is not a project manager I want to work for.
Never live in fear of losing your job.
Make everyone else live in fear that you will quit your job.
And if they don’t live in fear of you quitting…
You’re in the wrong job and you aren’t trying hard enough.

I have just been banned from my library.
And the reason cited is “I am checking out too many books per month which is highly suspicious.”
As in, I check out three books at once (the maximum I am allowed), I read them during the week, and I return them the following week.
Rinse and repeat.
This is, by all accounts, a highly suspicious activity and the librarian wants to talk to my parents as she believes I am up to no good.
I have been banned for three months.

Had a deep and meaningful discussion with my girlfriend about gender equality.
She won’t budge on the idea that she doesn’t want a man babysitting her (hypothetical) child because men don’t make good babysitters and she wouldn’t trust a strange man around her child.
I am offended by this.
“Get over it” I am told “it’s not sexist, it’s just reality. Men aren’t trustworthy.”
Uh… what?

When we eventually get cars that are self-driving and self-navigating at what point do we start having people who died en-route and arrive at their destinations D.O.A. as it were?
“Oh look everyone! Uncle Jeremy’s car just pulled up in the driveway. Let the children rush out to greet him first because they haven’t seen him in so long.”
Cue children screaming when they find Uncle Jeremy dead in the “driver’s” seat, having had a massive coronary and expired en route to family dinner.
