If you are trying to hire senior and lead software developers in a hot market, and find unique skillsets, and your interview loop lasts a month, and the candidate is still being given “exploratory chats” and still has no idea what their compensation is, of course you’re going to find it hard to hire.
Most developers aren’t looking, and those that are, if they’re any good, will have multiple offers and the windows of opportunity to execute on those active offers are rapidly closing for them. Candidates aren’t going to wait around on the off chance that you come through.
I still don’t understand this with companies complaining they cannot hire good developers. You’re squandering opportunities.
Dealing with recruiters and “talent managers” right now who are trying to insert unnecessary delays and hurdles in an already broken process.
